Radness
Vintage pocket knives made out of Scrimshaw. Which is the name of craft works created by whalers, usually carved on whales tooth or bones.
How awesome are these bad boys?! Made by Scrimshaw and the ones in the pic are specifically called ‘New York Knives’, just because they were given to this couple as a gift when they first moved to New York City. How convenient.
His and Hers. So fucking rad!

HOBO COINS
The Great Depression, in the 1930s was the beginning of a decade of unemployment, poverty, low profits, deflation and lost opportunities. Which forced a huge number of men to hit the road, they were also known as ‘the knight of the road’. With no income whatsoever, spent an amount of time on the road carving coins that end up looking like these. How fucking rad?! What is considered folk art now, the ‘traveling men’ would sell these on their travels or have them traded for a meal and even shelter for the night.
